Introducing the Performance Pinnacle of the 2018 BMW M5

Nearly a year after the arrival of the all-new 5 Series, its performance sibling is seeing the light of day. Yes, the 2018 BMW M5 is based off the same stuff as the exemplary sedan, but with some key differences. For one, it houses a twin-turbo V8 with 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. For another, it’s the first M5 to offer standard xDrive all-wheel drive.

Don’t worry, you can still power the M5 in RWD if you wish, and the same option can also toggle off Dynamic Stability Control. Elsewise, it’s all hardcore performance gear: six-piston blue calipers clamp down on 15.5-inch rotors up front, and 15-inch discs out back. The suspension has been retuned, and the track widened for better handling, while the options sheet boasts a Damper Control System with three modes, and speed-sensitive M Servotronic Steering, among other goodies.

The 2018 M5 will be offered in a special First Edition model and the standard model. The former will only offer 50 units in America, so if you want your in, contact our BMW dealership in Honolulu, HI and let us know. We’ll check availability, and let you know what we can procure.
